Information You Enter
Search Terms
When a name, location, or other detail is typed into a sponsored search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Otero County Inmate Population does not store those search terms in its own records.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to respond, track the issue, or comply with a legal duty. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Automatic Site Data
Basic technical data may be collected when a page loads. This helps keep the site working, identify broken pages, and understand which Otero County record topics are being used.
- IP address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on those pages.
- Referring website, when one is provided.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used for analytics, advertising, and site-performance measurement. You can block cookies in your browser settings. Some features or partner tools may work differently when cookies are blocked.
How Data Is Used
Collected information is used for ordinary website operations and record-resource routing, not to create an official jail, court, or corrections record.
- Keep pages available, secure, and reasonably fast.
- Send search requests to the correct partner service.
- Understand which pages are useful to visitors.
- Find broken links, errors, and technical problems.
- Display advertising that may be based on general interests.
Outside Websites
This site links to Otero County pages, New Mexico court and corrections resources, federal locators, ICE resources, and third-party search providers. Once you leave this site, the outside site's privacy policy and terms control how your information is handled.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and show targeted ads. Those practices occur on the partner's systems, not in an official Otero County record system.
Who May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold as a private mailing list. It may be disclosed to a limited group when needed to operate the site or comply with law.
- Search partners that process submitted queries.
- Analytics providers that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when required by a valid legal order.
Public Records Context
New Mexico's Inspection of Public Records Act, including NMSA 14-2-1, governs access to many government records. That law is separate from this Privacy Notice. Requests for official Otero County records should go to the proper public-records custodian, not to this private site.
Security Measures
Reasonable security practices are used to protect information handled through this site. No website, email system, analytics platform, or advertising tool can be guaranteed to be free from unauthorized access or technical failure.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted information, contact us so the issue can be reviewed and the information can be deleted when appropriate.
